About the Career Office
The Career Office is a management unit of BlueCrest College that ensures that students have the best of training and experiences in developing their skill set for employment and entrepreneurial goals. An intriguing environment and comfort is created for all interns. Career Counselling and guidance are also provided for students to enable them understand the concept and ideals pertaining to their choice of programme pursued at BlueCrest College.The Career Office facilitates Top Class organisations for career development and job placement.
Mission Statement
The BlueCrest College, Career Office supports experiential learning by encouraging student internship participation; collaborating with departments and organizations to provide academic internship course credit; and promoting professional development through unique learning opportunities. The Program specifically targets school of Technology, School of Business and Communication, School of Fashion students and encourages experiential learning as a complimentary approach to education while focusing on increasing the quantity and quality of internship opportunities that lead to permanent employment for BlueCrest College graduates.
Vision
Students will enhance their academic and professional skills while making themselves more marketable as they leave academia and enter today’s competitive workforce.
Policies and Procedures for The Career Office
Criteria Necessary for an Intern
To ensure that a STUDENT — whether it is an internal internship or one conducted outside the school premises — must be educational and thus acceptable by the Career office, all the following criteria is a necessity for all interns:
- The experience gained must be an extension of the classroom: a learning experience that provides for applying the knowledge gained in the classroom. It must not be simply to advance the operations of the employer or be the work that a regular employee would routinely perform.
- The skills or knowledge learned must be transferable to other employment settings.
- The experience acquired must entails a defined beginning and end, and a job description with desired qualifications
- There are clearly defined learning objectives/goals related to the professional goals of the student’s academic coursework.
- There is supervision by a professional with expertise and educational and/or professional background in the field of the experience.
- There is routine feedback by the experienced supervisor.
Criteria for unpaid internships
The following are the necessary criteria for unpaid Internship:
- The extent to which the internship provides training that would be similar to that which would be given in an educational environment.
- The extent to which the internship programme relates to the intern’s formal education program by integrated coursework or the receipt of academic credit.
- The extent to which the internship accommodates the intern’s academic commitments by corresponding to the academic calendar.
- The extent to which the internship’s duration is limited to the period in which the internship provides the intern with beneficial learning.
- The extent to which the intern’s work complements, rather than displaces, the work of paid employees while providing significant educational benefits to the intern.
- The extent to which the intern and the employer understand that the internship training is not entitled to a paid job at the conclusion of the internship.
FACILITATING INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS
The Career Office will facilitate internship avenues in organizations and institutions for students.
Based on the criteria provided by the Career Office, students who solicit internships from their preferred organizations should ensure that their training meet the standards of the Career Office.

INTERNSHIP AND JOB PLACEMENT INTERVIEW
Interviews will be organized and proceeded in three different categories. These sections are in respect to the three departments at BlueCrest College.
SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY
The school of Technology pursue B.Sc. in Information Technology, Diploma and Certificate programmes;

The school of Business and Communication pursue B.B.A in Banking and Finance, Human Resource Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management and B.A in Mass Communication and Journalism. They also engage students in Diploma and Certificate programmes as well;

INTERNSHIP PROCESS AT BLUECREST COLLEGE
The prospective students who would like to pursue an internship programme must follow the following processes;
- Complete an Internship application form
- Provision of a detailed Curriculum Vitae
- Mandatory requirements for all students to attend orientation
- Matching students profiles to internship openings
- Selection
- Distribution of internship letters to organizations
